“Set to Reset,” the beloved work of post-modern dance by Trisha Brown, was re-staged for UWM’s annual Winterdances event.
The re-staging, directed by Melinda Myers (former company member of Trisha Brown Dance Company), featured student dancers and a significant visual art collaboration with the UWM Department of Art and Design. Winterdances also featured choreographic works by UWM Dance Faculty Simone Ferro, Luc Vanier and Darci Wutz.
The performance of “Set and Rest” is the focal point of the UWM Dance Department’s current research project entitled Brown: Lineage and Process, a year-long exploration of Brown’s creative ideas. The project is partially funded by a National Endowment for the Arts
“Art Works” award.
